About when klia2, the not so budget budget terminal is due to open.
Pity prices are generally much more than scoot

It is worrisome that both JQi and QFi seem to be in strategic retreat, while competitors are moving aggressively against the airline group.

With a dismally performing share price, we can only remain hopeful that the behind the scenes meetings in Canberra tomorrow, start to stick knives in the backs of a multitude of QAN executives and board members.

The view Qantas can't seem to see from its SYD ivory tower.

Seems that this is now scheduled. D7221 will start on July 2nd with the 9:25pm departure 4x a week. IMHO a much better timing for flights to Asia compared to QF or SIA, and their Premium flat seat is not too bad too.

According to flightmapper:

Tue,Thu,Fri,Sun 21:25 Sydney (SYD) 1 04:20 Kuala Lumpur (KUL) L
D7 221 Non-stop Airbus A330 (330) 8:55 Effective 2013-07-02 through 2013-10-04
The flight arrives 1 day after departure.

That's the same timing as the overnight MH flight from SYD to KUL. I actually prefer this flight timing. Means you can get a full day's work in, not rush to the airport, get some sleep on the plane and catch most of the connecting flights to Asia in the morning.
