Also, $2k return to EU is hardly cheap, espeically 10 abreast in back of a 777.

Would rather spend the same and fly any other carrier (SQ/QF/CX etc)

But PE to Reunion doesn't look a bad price. I'd go not expecting a lot and I probably wouldn't be disappointed. I've had a report that Reunion is a fascinating place for a holiday, if you like things French and spectacular scenery.
