Air Canada lounge on United ticket

Hi, not sure if this is the right place to ask. If I am velocity platinum and maybe booking through United Air to fly with a US / Canada itinerary. On the way home the United flight from Montreal to LA is with Air Canada. Will I get lounge access? If I was booked through Air Canada , I would, but was unsure if the code share allows it?

What class of travel? If it is J, all one one ticket, I believe the *A rules would allow access in YUL and LAX.

If it’s whY class and relying on VA status, I’ll defer to someone else to negotiate that minefield.

If you trust what VA says on their website then I think you should have access? International lounge access | Virgin Australia

Access to Air Canada Maple Leaf lounges is available to eligible guests when travelling on an Air Canada operated flight.

There's no mention that it needs to be Air Canada marketed.
