Hi All,

I'm taking a business class flight MEL to DEL return - and wondering what the best place to 'store' my points/status are?

Kris Flyer (used primarily for redemption via Amex Transfer)
or
Flying Returns (new AI program)

Any advice would be appreciated.

Cheers,
BM

FF points/miles/avios in a freq flyer program of an airline you may not fly again are a waste.
Orphan ffps' with low balance and little chance of adding to are no value.
Also need to look at the rules for expiry, earning and the award process for any new ffp. Some are not user friendly. Or AU/English language friendly.

SQ Krisflyer have a hard expiry: use them or loose them.
UA ff miles do not expire.
Such FF points/miles/avios are better in an existing ffp. Or a partner you may fly more
What ffps in Star Alliance are you a member of?

Thanks Mwenenzi.

The only StarAlliance FFP I'm actively using is my KrisFlyer account (purely for redemptions).

I do fly United to the US - but will credit them to my Virgin Velocity (platinum)

Although KF miles approaching expiry (or not, for that matter) can always be transferred out to VA Velocity too, albeit with a 1.55:1 penalty.

We always use krisflyer for any AI flight to accumulate the points but updating the ff number in the Air India app is a big task. The not so friendly UI and also it has to be done at the check-in counter , atleast I was not able to do it using the app.

Let us know how you go with Kris flyer , if you go down that path.
