On 31 January 2013, Air New Zealand joins Asia Miles in the Airlines category. From this date, members will be able to earn Asia Miles on Air New Zealand flights between Auckland and Hong Kong – and start redeeming miles for award tickets later in the first quarter of 2013 (exact date to be announced).

I got an email this morning with the same info, but as with the above, it just mentions codesharing and earning/burning, not lounge access. My email was from MPC, and if I was still a status member my only question would be how I'd be handled as a status pax, and that wasn't answered in the release. I was expecting to see info about lounge access...

Interesting development though, all they need is Jetstar to start flying AKL-HKG!
