As you may know, Air New Zealand offers various levels of service on their Trans-Tasman flights (Seat, Seat + Bag, the works, etc). If I am booking an Air NZ economy award using miles from United, would I be booked into the works or some other fare? There is a lack of information on this. Looking for someone with experience booking air nz awards with partner miles.

I flew Air New Zealand RAR-AKL-SYD on a United award in economy class earlier this year. This was treated as a "The Works" fare with checked baggage and a meal included.

My BP 's used to state ECONOMY for through bookings (such as MEL-xAKL-LAX)- for those on other fares they show something like SEAT or SEAT & BAG or THE WORKS or WORKS DELUXE

My boarding pass stated "The Works" when flying on a United award.

Air New Zealand only sells "Seats to Suit" directly. All bookings made through partners or as part of an international itinerary are simply called "Economy" and are essentially The Works.

Currently in Tahiti having used TK miles to book SYD-AKL-PPT rtn on NZ.
My wife and I had THE WORKS listed in the booking and on our boarding pass. I'd called NZ to have child meals allocated for our son and his boarding pass had CHILD WORKS printed on it.

To clarify bookings made through partners or as part of NZ longhaul itineraries get Works product. Other international itineraries sold through NZ are seat to suit - all short and medium haul routes which includes Hawaii, Denpasar, Ho Chi Minh City, and Papeete (Tahiti).
