Air NZ Recognition Upgrades

As an AZ Silver I apparently have 1 recognition upgrade which I understand gives me a 1-class upgrade e.g. from Works to Works Deluxe. However it is not clear to me on the AirNZ web-site how I actually claim it. Do I first book the Works ticket and then call them to request the upgrade or should I make the original booking through their call centre?

Secondly given I normally book Works anyway (this is a TT flight) I presume that the only tangible benefit of Works Deluxe is that I would get lounge access prior to the flight?

After you have booked your fare you can request upgrade online. You need look for TT flights on 767 or 777 where business class is offered, then you can (request) upgrade from economy (any fare) to business class. IMHO using the upgrade certificate from Works to Works Deluxe is a waste (and not even sure if the upgrade can even be used for that)

Thanks a lot. To be honest I didnt know Air NZ offered biz class anymore on TT sectors, but it seems there is 1 flight SYD-AKL each day. Limits the flight choice somewhat but since the upgrade was free I might as well use it.
