Airline Price error - do they honour?

I recently purchased an award ticket, that had been loaded on the airlines website (australian) with no points showing, only taxes. I booked a return flight for myself and family, as the deal was excellent. I am wondering though if the airline will honour the tickets - which have been issued, and my credit card debited with the tax amount. No points have been taken from my account. Clearly this is an airline error. What is my position, can the airline cancel my tickets?
 
I've not heard of an Australian airline not honouring what was booked on its website.
 
Suddenly, the airlines website reports a dramatic increase in people looking for certain PE flights! :)

Anyone know the legal position, Can they cancel the flights?
they may, it's more likely if they are made aware of them on public forums.

There have been some big errors more lucrative than yours recently, and all have been honoured. If something was going to happen I would imagine it happens quickly.

Three of my Yangon alleged 'mistake' fares were cancelled arbitrarily, several weeks after ticketing and my credit card having been debited in what was a shocking case of an airline thumbing its nose at a passenger.

That said, in the OP's situation, in involves an Australian transaction which would suggest protection under Australian consumer protection laws.

Aware of those, given this is an ex Australia fare my answer was in that context, I am not aware of any mistake fare thats been cancelled by an Aussie carrier, and have been the benefit of quite a few on both sides of the fence.

As I included in my post, I think our consumer protection laws are better than a lot of those in overseas jurisdictions.

As I included in my post, I think our consumer protection laws are better than a lot of those in overseas jurisdictions.

The EU and DOT (USA) have better consumer protection laws for aviation than we do in Australia (which is basically nothing). In Australia we would rely, in a case like this, on regular contract law.
