I've seen a previous thread where everyone was posting pictures of numbers, and have wanted to suggest this for some time...

I see Airport codes all around me, in situations other than at the airport. Here's the challenge: post a photo of an Airport code, but it has to be out of the context of anything to do with airports or airlines etc.

Rules:
1. Can't be on anything obviously related to airports or airline industry... a bag tag or airport sign is just way too easy.
2. Airport IATA or ICAO codes accepted... http://airportguide.com/iata_list.php is a good reference place. Bonus points for ICAO codes.
3. Name the airport being referenced.
Hmm.. can't think of any other rules, but I'll make them up as we go along :D

So... here's the first one to start. (Apologies if the photo's upside-down... can't work out that whole iPhone thing...)

I know it's not an airport code, but I saw a car with GDS in the licence plate leaving BNE the other day (and not a personalised plate either - just a standard one as in your photo)... I smiled!

On the day QF announced they were going back to OOL, I saw a Car licence plate starting with the prefix OOL!

Here's mine - Manchester, not that I've been

Here we go:

AVC is the Mecklenburg-brunswick regional airport in South Hill Virginia. I should go there.
