Seeing as the mods are doing a good job making sure that others are not talking about the answers in the other thread, yet there could be a discussion about airport signs (or the ones from the quiz), I've created this thread so those who have attempted the quiz can have some discussion.

Whilst I realise this may contravene the rules of the forum on similar topics that should be a single thread, I hope that the mods may understand there are tactical reasons for this "split" setup.

For those viewing this thread for the first time: If you have not completed the airport signs quiz, DO NOT PROCEED. You will get spoilers (i.e. answers) here for the quiz. If you want to attempt the quiz, please click HERE to view the original quiz thread, and attempt the quiz by following the link in the first post.

Of course, if you read this thread, find answers and then attempt the quiz, you're cheating. We don't want that, so please do the right thing.

For those who have attempted... please feel free to discuss.

And this huge space will hopefully discourage any errant peeps from those who haven't attempted the quiz.

Hahaha the first one: let us take your wallet. That beat me straight up.

Re: Airport Signs Quiz: Discussion Thread [Entry ONLY for those who have attempted qu

The two I missed were the nicely dressed couple (does such a thing even exist in this country - I have never heard of it before!), and the Pavilion thing.

I don't understand how a person sitting on a chair thinking about clocks/time is more 'comfort seats' than 'waiting room'.

I also find the concept of a married people's bathroom bizarre. Just make them unisex and let whoever feels comfortable with whomever use it at the same time. Unless it's a larger bathroom that can only be used by multiple married people, which is even stranger and very arbitrarily discriminatory.

Still, props to them for trying to make some universal signs (even if they were ambiguous).

Re: Airport Signs Quiz: Discussion Thread [Entry ONLY for those who have attempted qu

I figured it would be comfort seats, not a waiting room by chance. I guessed that a waiting room would be a person on an upright seat looking at a clock; looked far to comfortable to be waiting;). As for married couple toilet I don't even get the concept, only thing I can think of it's for those who might want a quickie without wanting to attempt on board?

Yep, that is the one I got wrong first time through.

Had to look a second time for the disbelief!

A eye looking at a bulging pocket and a bag, is a minding service..hmm to sounds like we will "mind" it, but you don't get it back.

Well the passport one was easy as that symbol is on my passport.

The eye and red wallet and bag was also easy, with only 3 options to pick. Wasn't the answer "help us look after your valuables". That is be vigilant, if you see a wallet half out of a back pocket tell the person, or don't have your wallet hanging out of your back pocket. Watch your bags.

A guy on a "lounge", not a seat, watching the clock. Waiting lounge - easy!

Married couple bathroom - GET A ROOM!

Agree, logically human body shape figures go hand in hand with toilet signs, but why on earth would an airport have a couples toilet. So I though Corporate Ballroom was more relevant in an Airport:oops:. I suppose rather than the mile high club, it is the metre high club .

And the sign of the car + person = kiss and ride, huh???, I chose departures, logic hmmm...

Re: Airport Signs Quiz: Discussion Thread [Entry ONLY for those who have attempted qu

"Kiss and drop" is widely used here in SA at schools. Some schools even have signs up. So as a grandparent that does the occasional school run, twas easy.

The married persons toilet stumped me... Some of the signs where pretty universal (eg the e-passport sign)
The comfy seats sign I thought it could be either that or departure lounge.

Re: Airport Signs Quiz: Discussion Thread [Entry ONLY for those who have attempted qu

It helped with the quiz if you transfer through Schiphol airport a bit - still had the married couples toilet one wrong (but then - I'm not married.....)

Re: Airport Signs Quiz: Discussion Thread [Entry ONLY for those who have attempted qu

At BNE suburban train stations it's called "kiss-and-ride".

Just speculation, but perhaps there's two toilets in the one cubicle to help get more people through quickly... a bit like an ensuite in a house: they're usually showering and pooping together anyway! Why not poop together as well! "A family that poops together, stays together" :D

Plus, means one person wouldn't have to watch the luggage while the other went first and vice versa.

Re: Airport Signs Quiz: Discussion Thread [Entry ONLY for those who have attempted qu

Makes you wonder if anyone would want to use a married couples loo! Yuck, just imagine what might have gone on before

Re: Airport Signs Quiz: Discussion Thread [Entry ONLY for those who have attempted qu

Since I have seen these KISS and RIDE signs in the USA it was easy.

That’s what got me, never heard the phrase so I didn’t know what it was on about and had to choose something else, but it did look like a drop off point, so I should have got 9/10.

The other one I got wrong was either (I can’t remember anymore :() the comfort seats, as the clock throws me, or the panorama terrace, as it looks more like someone waving goodbye to another departing.

Re: Airport Signs Quiz: Discussion Thread [Entry ONLY for those who have attempted qu

I got 7 out of 10. The Married couples toilet, the kiss and drop and the sports equipment, as I selected was in fact oversized baggage.

Married couples toilet. What will the dutch think of next.
