Alan Joyce is set to wed his partner of two decades Shane Lloyd.
The ceremony is set down for early November at the Museum of Contemporary Art at Circular Quay

Now, could this be the WP1 event of the year? Or will it be a CL only event?

Will there be special flights to SYD to attend with a guaranteed upgrade? Will their honeymoon travel be restricted to QF operated destinations? Will Neil Perry cater the event?

What other suggestions/thoughts for the aviation wedding of the year can my fellow AFFers contribute? 👬

Finally, congratulations and best wishes to AJ and Shane, may they have every happiness.

AJ’s getting married. (You forgot the apostrophe HVR) however, moving on. Frankly who cares, people get married (or don’t) everyday.
If A J announced that he was foregoing some of his obscene income on fixing the web site (let’s face it, who here hasn’t felt like throwing a brick at the screen sometimes) or better still foregoing some more of his obscene income to fund onshore call centres with Australians (who still call Australia home) . That soup.d the. Be newsworthy.
Oh that’s right, so long as the share holders are looked after the staff and passengers can just suck it up. ..... ok rant over.
Congratulations AJ I’m sure you’re essentially a good chap.

Honeymoon destinations, they’ve probably been everywhere anyway, at least they can walk home from the wedding as they live in the ‘toaster’.

Guest gifts or favours as the anglos call them, bomboniere for us old school/italians, will be QF sick bags filled with snack and tiny drink goodies from the carts.

Other than none of my business, good luck to them, Im sure he can afford something wonderful, I wont make the guest list, Im glad he has the same opportunity to marry like the rest of us.

Just wait till the wedding itself.
Press will have a field say.
Was this the partner that allowed him to step into being CEO of JQ?
Work visa wise that is, when he left Aer Lingus.

Forgive me all, if you dislike this persons achievements. I dislike the modern focus on lesbians and gays not because of any fundamental problems with it, but because of the focus on it that I believe is unnecessary.

My life's view is that no matter what my political or other opinions are, that I respect each person for what they are. And as such, I wish AJ a joyous wedding, just as I would wish anyone the same.

Take a look at the bigger picture... the LGBTQI community, perhaps the youth in the country, read positive stories such as these and perhaps get to build their self esteem just a little bit. Perhaps feel just a little bit more ‘normal’.
