Hi There,

I have tried to find the answer but can't seem to.

Im looking at booking this fare below or similar fares and wondering what SC it would earn to QFF program.
I suppose the other question I would ask is whether it is worthwhile to go first class or economy, if I am really just after the extra SC.

First Class (I) | Nonstop
Alaska 1388Distance: 911 mi | Duration: 2h ours20minutes| Details
Los Angeles, CA (LAX)
Sat, Jun 10
4:25 pmCabo San Lucas/Los Cabos (SJD)

First Class (D) | Nonstop
Alaska 1392Distance: 802 mi | Duration: 2h ours5minutes| Details
Cabo San Lucas/Los Cabos (SJD)

You will earn status credits at business class rates, per https://www.qantas.com/au/en/freque...t-flyer-earn-categories:en:nn#alaska-airlines

As mentioned, Business SC earn for domestic “First” class and short haul international Business eg to Mexico. The QF points calculator has most AS sectors, if not choose AA if available to check the earn. In the two you’ve posted, they’re 60 SCs each v 15 each in discount whY.

Also, if you have OW Status you can use any/all the available OW lounges at LAX preflight.

Sorry to hijack this thread but I think it's relevant. I'm finding some conflicting information about Economy Saver (X) on AS. This article says that it earns no points:

Alaska Airlines, another Qantas Frequent Flyer partner, also recently introduced its own version of Basic Economy. Alaska Airlines markets these as “Saver” tickets, which book into “X” fare class. These also do not earn any Qantas points.

However the earn category chart for AS on the Qantas website lists X as earning discount economy points and SCs:

One would assume that a chart on the Qantas website would be more accurate than an article written in 2019. But does anyone know for sure? If it's true then it sure beats flying AA Economy Basic and not earning anything at all.

I think I've answered my own question. Alaska joined OW in April 2021, so that's probably the event that's altered the earn chart since that article was written. Ignore me...

Hi SYD,

Thanks for your reply.

If I booked the "Saver" fare from Cabo to LAX would that still be 15 SC?

And that Saver fare would still get a Platinum and gold baggage allowance ?

Just tossing up if it is worth the extra $ to go to the main fare, if it is the same allowances as the Saver fare for QFF.

Thanks

TQ

You will get a ton more SCs for first (business) class.

As mentioned by SYD above LAX-SJD will be 60SCs one way for example: https://www.qantas.com/au/en/frequent-flyer/calculators.html#/

If the price is right AS F - any US F for that matter - is better than main cabin!

I can also confirm that AS flights post to QF reasonably quickly. After four recent flights (and 320 SCs later) they post 4 to 7 days after travel date. Initially I thought it was 7 days (to the day) based on the first two but the last two (JFK-SFO-SAN) posted on day 4.

Exactly 100 SC’s for the HNL to ANC sector.

I think the points only post once a week, around Monday AU time.

On our recent trip the inbound sector to Anchorage posted within a day, but the outbound just missed this weekly cycle so it took 7 days.
