Aldi unveils surprise move in the travel industry

The popular German retailer has just made an unexpected announcement that will leave Aussies both baffled and excited.

German supermarket giant Aldi has entered into new and unexpected territory – travel.
In a first for Aussie supermarkets, the popular retailer has taken things to a whole new level by launching the Aldi Holidays online portal.

It means Aussie shoppers can now plan their next holiday with a bunch of exclusive Aldi escapes, cruises and tour deals.

Interesting! That vanuatu package isn't terrible.

AFAIK, both Aldi and Aldi Sud, (the original company in Germany split in two in the early sixties) along with Lidl, Netto, Edeka, Rewe and the other similar supermarkets all sell travel, flights, packages.

So, to me this seems a natural progression to do it here, I think if the companies mentioned above have shops in other places in Europe/UK, they do the same. be interesting to see what they offer. More competition can only be a good thing for us!
