Very disappointed to arrive at the airport for my flight and find the lounge is closed for renovation for two months. That’s ok except couldn’t QF let members know prior? And is it a fair compensation to be offered a $15 voucher at the airport cafe as compensation? Is that all a visit is worth to members?

And the only way I have this information is by googling and finding an article about it. So I don’t know where you collect the voucher as I was already through security.
Not happy.😤 I’m sure it will be worth it....in April!

Sorry about your situation. But which airport is this?

Certainly looks like it. In answer to OP's question about where to get the $15 voucher, the article suggests it is at check-in.
Yes it’s Alice Springs. I did an online check in, no luggage so went straight through as usual to the lounge. Maybe a note at check in for Alice Springs online would have been useful.

Sounds like you've slipped through the cracks there OP. If it were me, I'd drop a message to [email protected] or call them and explain your situation, and politely ask them for 2000 points or so as compensation - seems reasonable to me (a bit more than the $15 they would have handed out, but the rest is your commission for spotting the obvious error in their process and lack of customer notification ;)).

The other option would be to spend at the cafe there and then send in a reciept, but that runs the risk that they don't follow through with compensation, which I doubt they're obliged to provide, but given the circumstances I think you are right to ask for something.

Thanks, I’ll give it a go writing to them. It seemed poor compensation.... and not upfront for people travelling without luggage. 😊

Alice Springs? Well I learnt something today. Didn’t think that they would have a Qantas Pub.
Come and visit but not until April! 😉

Looks like this lounge will now reopen tomorrow.
Oh if only there were somewhere to go...😢 I’m hoping we will have more than two flights a week once our borders open on July 17th. But no word as yet. Looking forward to checking out our new lounge and flying somewhere .....
