Alitalia - 'Vola al Top' Promotion

If you have reached Silver, Gold or Platinum level frequent flyer membership with an airline that is not a member of SkyTeam, this promotion is made for you.

• Membership to one of Alitalia’s MilleMiglia Program’s exclusive clubs, and enjoy all the club privileges through December 31, 2009.
• Membership renewal for 12 months following December 31, 2009 by accumulating during the second half year of 2009:
  • 10,000 qualifying miles to renew your Club Ulisse status
  • 25,000 qualifying miles to renew your Freccia Alata status
  • 40,000 qualifying miles to renew your Freccia Alata Plus status.
• 20,000 bonus miles which can be immediately redeemed toward award travel to any destination in Italy or select destinations in Europe. The bonus miles will be applied to your account once you have earned 20,000 qualifying miles. To receive the bonus miles, qualifying miles must be earned during the second half year of 2009.

Not a bad program if you have to fly on a SkyTeam Airline (e.g. Delta), as you can redeem on QANTAS or SkyTeam.

NB, it will cost you less to redeem from Australia to Europe/USA on Alitalia than on QFF, but of course there is no status bonuses for flying on QANTAS.

Of course, it is a SkyTeam program without Lifetime Status. Apparently KE will give you Lifetime Status after 1MM.

That's a pretty generous offer and I'm tempted to get my TG *G matched...but I don't have a fax machine.
