All Seasons/QFF points query

Just checked into an All Seasons here in Sydney and when I produced my QFF card the receptionist said "Oh you can't get those here" - is that true despite All Seasons being listed on the QFF page as being one of their hotel partners or is she really trying to say "our technology is ancient and so we can't process your points here so you will have to post the receipt to QFF"?

I just had a look on the Qantas website and I don't think that All Seasons are a QFF partner hotel. I hope I'm wrong, but otherwise it looks like she's right.

According to this page they are - Frequent Flyer - Earning Points - Stay - but I'm jetlagged to hell so it's possible that I'm not reading it right!

You are reading it right but as usual it's the fine print that says you can earn only in accordance with the rates and T&Cs as determined by the hotel.

That's why a stay at the government rate at the Hilton Sydney will earn points but not at the Swissotel - it's up to the hotel.

I'm just paying regular room rate straight off the All Seasons website - had a choice of several hotels in the area but chose All Seasons for the QFF points - well so I thought!

Qantas really need to somehow simplify things with this - otherwise it's "well you can earn points at this brand of hotel, but some particular locations within that brand won't give you points - but you won't find that out until you check in!" - which is damn ridiculous.

Yes you are reading that page correctly. Unfortunately, the Sydney location is not a partner hotel. If you head to the QFF partner hotel map and filter by All Seasons, it shows that only the Cairns hotel and the Margaret River hotel are partners. On the All Seasons booking page on QFF, it doesn't have the frequent flyer earning logo.

Yes it sure sucks. It might be worth writing a letter through to the QFF team. Even if they aren't able to do anything for you, they might be able to make the website a bit more intelligible. And who knows? Maybe they will offer you something?
