Hi, I am new to this site so forgive me if this gets asked all the time.
I have about 95000 QF ff points. I need to get 35000 extra points to do the flight I need.
I know my sister has that many at least and was going to ask her to sell/gift them to me... does anyone know what I should offer I was thinking maybe $300 to $400 as that is all the points would be worth in terms of a fare...but I know they cost a lot more on QF website when you purchase top ups...
What would be the fair price to pay ?
Are there any other ideas for getting that many points fast ? My credit cards have all been emptied of their points... I am wracking my brain as I need these fast !
Thanks for an ideas !

You can only purchase up to 20,000 points from Qantas, so getting 35,000 from that route is not an option anyway. Your best bet would seem to be gifting from your family. At the end it is up to you and your sibling to work out the value, but I guess I would use 1c per point as a rough guide.

Just for my own calculations of value/cost i usually would say 10,000 points = 100 dollars. So a MEL-NRT-MEL is 72,000 points, about $720 which when you add taxes is a little less than the best discount fares would be. (but points less useful than cash)

Welcome to AFF pinktori71 :)

You should be careful about posting stuff like this. Sale of points is not allowed and if QFF decides your relative is selling points to you (and perhaps not really your relative) they could close your account. There risk may be small - I have no view on that.

Wow..yeah after a bit of googling I discovered it's not the done thing.
Sorry, said I was new to this.
It's def. my sis who I am getting the points from....I might get her to trf for me now, then trf back to her when I rescrape up some more in the mean time.....only prob is I seem to only be earning on Diners as I am flying with everyone else except the program airlines !! Surely QF allow us to do that.
Anway..thanks for the tip !

Good point Kiwi Flyer, i didn't even think of that at the time, i like to hold on to all mine for my use :) i do have half a million to use though no dount that will go with a trip to Europe this year and some upgrades along the way.

I wonder how many QFF points are out there and what value Qantas puts on them on there books, i am sure i read it somewhere but cant find it now of course, annual reports would have a value i would think but not a number of points or avg points per account etc.
I wonder how many accounts have ever redeemed points as a %
