I had planned to stay here at Easter but got side tracked to DXB, so I am here later than planned! For those not familiar with the Aloft concept, take out the marketing hype and you have a hotel that's basic but somewhat hip. Rooms are functional, no stocked mini bar and most of the items you find in the living room are in the bathroom (coffee/ tea making, cups, wardrobe etc).
The bathroom has a sliding door that covers with the shower or the loo, so don't say there are no choices LOL. The main room is very bare with a small couch, TV and king bed. As you would expect everything is new, but was disappointed with the cleanliness of the bathroom fixtures, some were rusting.
Probably the highlight is the top floor pool and bar, although the pool closes at 7PM which to me is too early. There is a self serve snack area and also a restaurant on the first floor.
Overall it's functional, but given rates are not far of the Sheraton and Le Meridian, many would find value elsewhere, however for a points stay it's good value at 3k a night.
