Why do they call it 'Altitude Rewards' ? It should be 'Altitude Punishment'.
I ordered a camera and paid with my points. After 14 days of the order status showing 'On order' it is now showing 'Delayed stock'.
This is for an item that is prominently displayed on their website as being available now.
Pathetic.

Have you chased them for an explanation is it hardly sounds satisfactory?

Have emailed them again with the usual response from these types of operations, ie. none.

Or maybe it's because their own reply address bounced

In the meantime, I have added a comment to my own website - will see if google picks it up.

Not sure if I am allowed to include a URL here ... apologies if not What cheeses me off

Scott

Will do, thanks ;)

Mind you, I also tweeted my whinge and included the names 'Westpac' and 'Altitude'. These days, many companies claim to have internal teams monitoring social media, so they can jump on a customer problem once it has hit the public arena.

Clearly Westpac isn't one of these companies !

UPDATE:

Have sent following complaint to Westpac via your suggested link...

Complaint
I ordered a camera (Pentax K-R) from Altitude Rewards on 9 June last and paid with my points. After 14 days of the order status showing 'On order' it is now showing 'Delayed stock'. This is for an item that is still (30 June) prominently displayed on the Altitude website as being available now. And it is also an item widely available in retail stores. Why is there such a delay? The situation does not reflect well on Westpac. Note that the return email address to Altitude (from when they advised me of the delay) bounced so I was unable to communicate with them directly on this.

These days I'm surprised if any one responds to the "feedback form" ..... I just call them, speak to a person and push for a better response...
Have generally had good experiences with Altitude rewards but have had to chase them occasionally.

On a slightly different take, for camera or other hardware purchases, I have generally found it was better value to redeem points for store cards (Like myer or harvey norman) that way I'm able to chase down a supplier with stock and negotiate a better price before paying with the Altitude redemption..... Ive always found the Altitude points value to be higher compared to the store price and redeeming te credits for store credit... Good luck and happy hunting....

My best advice, pick up the phone and speak to a person....

Very good advice re the store card redemption - should have done that.

In any case, whether or not my various complaints had any effect, the Altitudes website now says that my camera has been "despatched" ... yeeeeeeaaaah.

Phoning is normally the fastest way. However, I've always had a response from the feedback form. Mind you, when I use the feedback form, it is because I am escalating an unresolved issue and I let them know it is a (actually the last) step on the way to the Financial Ombudsman Service.

i ordered the NikonD5100 on august 16th and mine is still saying, delayed stock...emailed a few times, and recieved a call from someone in syd (im from melb) saying stock is due to arrive mid sept.

i dont get why it takes so long when, as you said, there is plentiful amounts of stock at partners such as harvey norman, myer etc etc..

what was bizzarre was when i was speaking to a rep for rewards, he said i could cancel the order and get a voucher to use in store.

sounds great hey instead of waiting..?

well, that voucher would take 1-3 weeks to get to me...absolutely ridiculous.

not happy. and im supposed to be looked after being a platinum card holder!

any advice to speed the process up!??! surely if i rant and rave etc etc ... !?
