Hey team

Couple of questions here with this promotion going around. Please see the link below. Book economy flight and get silver status, book business or higher and get gold status

There is also a little write up on it here:
British Airways Gatwick South timetable updated
As you can see, the journo also struggles with clarity on the deal haha.

It is for new members only and I already have an account but as far as I'm aware, its pretty easy to create a second one? Or perhaps cancel the current one and then re-make?
I have some questions that I was hoping could be answered if anyone could share their knowledge as I would love to get around this because I am flying etihad next week and have a 10 hour layover in Abu Dhabi and therefore am mainly after the lounge access that comes with silver status

1. Do you think if i sign up for it with a new account, and attach my existing booking to the new Etihad Guest number I get, that will be eligible?? Or does it sound like to you, you have to sign up and then make a new booking?
2. The long layover is on the return leg of my journey, so i leave on the 19th, long layover isn't until 29th, do you think if i am eligible, that will be enough time for them to send me an email saying 'you're now silver level etc.? '
3. It says for lounge access you have to be travelling on etihad operated flight. I travel etihad operated flight from Maldives to AUH but then Virgin Australia from AUH to SYD, do you think this will impact my eligibility or is code sharing still also okay?
4. Should I just email Etihad about it? or is that a drama with giving too much away about already being a member etc.

Please let me know your thoughts, would be unreal to get lounge access just for this layover.
Thanks
Luke

To take advantage, click here Opens Etihad Guest enrolment pageand enrol with Etihad Guest. Once your travel is completed you will receive your tier upgrade.

Sounds like you need to complete the travel first before they upgrade your status in order to get lounge access so I don't think signing up would get you lounge access for this trip lathough I'd still sign up for access for future EY travel.

Yeahs so do you think it requires completing the whole trip? because it doesnt specify if its one way or not...

Because for example, I fly etihad from Australia to Maldives, then Etihad back to AUH and then virgin from then on.
If I fly etihad through to Maldives, was hoping/wondering if that would make me eligible for the silver status after that trip.

So you need the access after your MLE/AUH flight and before your AUH/SYD flight? I would just send a pm to the EY social media people via Facebook and Twitter and see if they can activate the Silver membership immediately after your first two flights BNE/AUH/MLE. Doesn't hurt to try.

Looks like the T&Cs for this offer have since been updated...
