I booked a Jetstar flight to Asia and it was ~$1400. I had a leftover Jetstar travel voucher from the COVID days with $24 balance. The rest was paid with AMEX Platinum charge.

I just read the fineprint on the insurance PDS and it says to be eligible:

" You are going on an International Return Trip and You pay the full amount of Your outbound ticket for a Scheduled Flight or Scheduled Cruise leaving Australia on Your:
i. American Express Card Account;
ii. corresponding American Express Membership Rewards points or frequent flyer points (where applicable); and/or
iii. Travel Benefit."

I'm worried because I didn't spend the full amount with the AMEX card that I'm no longer eligible? $24 of it was with jetstar voucher...

I agree that this may be problematic.

You should probably look into standalone cover, or whether any other cards you hold already can provide adequate coverage. For example, some Bankwest cards provide automatic travel insurance regardless of whether you have put any travel expenses on the card, and many other issuers' insurances can be triggered by spending on other prepaid trip expenses such as hotels.

Good lesson for next time!

Lucky Jetstar removed the voucher payment method for me and I paid the $24 balance with amex :) Should be ok now.
