I recently transferred 60,000 miles from my Amex Rewards to Asia Miles to book a J class reward for my mother. The estimated time on the Amex site (when transferring) is 3 business days. It has been more than 5 business days since the transfer, and when I called Amex, they said the transfer had been completed successfully with no issues so requested I follow up with Asia Miles.
I have just called Asia Miles and they informed me that whilst the Amex transfer time is 3 business days, it could take Asia Miles up to 2 - 3 weeks to process the miles into the account. This seems like an incredibly long period of time to be waiting (when you are preparing to book an award) so I was just wondering if anybody has had any practical experience with this? Does this usually take 2-3 weeks or did the miles hit the account after a couple of days?
While talking to the MPC representative, I was able to ask them to hold the award ticket for me until Tues (3 days from now) but it could be unlikely that my miles will arrive by then.
