Amex Airnz Platinum Card Benefits

Hi,
I like the benefits that the latest AirNZ Amex Platinum Card has to offer, and am likely to sign up.
Two of the benefits I like are the two priority pass passes and free Koru Club access.

With this in mind, in May, I fly Auckland to Johannesburg return on Cathay Pacific ticketed flights in Preminum Economy. I have longer stopovers each way in Hong Kong. Will my Koru Club allow me access to any lounges? The AirNZ website indicates a lounge alliance on this route, but for a newbie like me its a bit confusing.

I understand I could use the priority passes in Hong Kong, but would prefer using an airline lounge.

Would appreciate any advice

With a Koru Club membership, you would have access to the NZ lounge in AKL and Thai Airways lounge in HKG before the flight back to Auckland, but only if you're booked on NZ flight numbers. If booked on CX flight numbers, no access.

The alliance is purely for the Auckland to Hong Kong route, won't cover Hong Kong to Jo'burg.

If priority pass lounges are available in Jo'burg and Hong Kong then you could use those there for those sectors and koru for the Auckland legs.
