This seems to be a new business card that American Express only introduced a few months ago:

There's a $395 annual fee. You get 2 free employee cards and earn 1.5 Amex points per $1 on everyday spend. ATO spend earns 1 point per $1 and you get bonus points + credit back on spend with Xero, Google Ads, Meta, AWS and Dell. Could be a good card if you run a business that spends money on social media advertising, I guess?

Current sign-up bonus is 150,000 Amex Membership Rewards points when spending $5,000 within 3 months. Expiry date is 11 Feb 2025.

We currently have the Business Plat, and run a bit of money through Google and Meta for advertising so this sounds good.

However they cap the bonus points and 1.5 points per $1 to 200,000 Amex points per annum, after that it drops to 1 point per $1 for all spend, so that makes it a little unattractive.

We are not planning to do a lot of travelling in the next year or so, so I think my plan before plat comes up for renewal is to get both this Gold card and the Business Explorer. Run everything Google/Meta through the Gold until hit the annual points cap, then run through the Business Explorer at 2 points per $ on spend.

Save over $1000 in annual fee for a marginal reduction in points earning capacity at planned spend levels
