Hi All

I recently received a letter from AMEX and also with a appliation form for platinum reserve card with $0 annual fee in 1st year. Now I am holding a gold amex card with no annual fee any way, if I sign up a new one will that be treated as a new application or just migrating? Amex call centre said because it would be a new product, normally should be a new application but as I'm already a member so could also be a product transfer? I just feel confused.

I believe on the application form (either online or the printed form), there is a space to specify if you are already a cardmember, and if so, you enter your card number in the boxes provided. The next question is usually if you would like to close the existing card (and move any amounts owing over to the new card), or to keep the original card open while still applying for the new card. :)

This form is different as the normal one, there are only 3 sections. 1st section comes with personal details and driver licence number, 2nd with contact details and 3rd is the address. No where mentioned about my existing card details, supplementary card etc.
