Just rang AMEX to transfer some more points across to my Starwood account or SPG as some people know it by and guess what they have dropped starwood as a transfer member so I can't now transfer anymore points to them.

Now I know why they were offering bonus point up until 30 Sep 08

Little dissapointed they did not advise me :(

Did anyone know they have dropped Starwood as a transfer member ?

Sorry new to AFF and not sure how to start a new thread

maybe Flash you could advise

Cheers

zzzhobbes,

If you go back to the topic page, 'American Express Rewards' in this case there is a 'NEW THREAD link at the top and bottom of the list of topics.

I hope that makes sense :!:

Re: 10,000 bonus points per 20 transactions

AFAIK, Starwood has not been dropped from Ascent.

you can transfer at a rate of 1000:330:
Minimum of 1,000
Increments of 100
100 Membership Rewards Points = 33 Starwood Points

Still showing as a partner for me.

I suspect it is because SPG is no longer supporting the Starpoint Purchase for Business program. I started a thread on flyertalk about this.

Essentially SPG don't want to sell any businesses starpoints anymore. Starwood gave no-one notice of this. Whether this has anything to do with this Amex promo, who knows.

I can't find it in the list of partners. However, you can still add it to your "FREQUENT TRAVELLER PARTNERS" listing, or select it if already added.

I did ...

  • log on to You Amex account
  • Click on "MEMBERSHIP REWARDS & BENEFITS" at the top.
  • Click "Membership Rewards" at the left of the sub menu.
  • Under "Lean More", click "Program Information"
  • Click "Fly further, sooner with Ascent >"
  • Click "frequent guest partner programs" under "Experience greater travel rewards"
  • Scroll down or Click "frequent guest partner programs"
  • Voila!

I did ...

I was trying it a different way which I'm sure worked in the past - I can remember seeing the logo!

  • log on to Your Amex account
  • Click on "Your Membership Rewards Points Balance"
  • Under "Search"/"Partners", scrolling down the list there is no Starwood.
  • Under "Categories"/"Ascent Frequent Traveller Programs"/"Go" , and scrolling through the 6 pages of partners, there is no Starwood listed.
