Hi All,
Have the green light now with the Woolworths Everyday offer and the owner a 2 new activated CC's. Nice to see I won't be charges any fees until Jan '11. Reading though the ANZ booklets re terms etc. and saw that the FF Amex gives more points (1 for $1) compared to the FF Visa (.25 for $1). It seems that Amex also has higher charges re overseas purchases.
Later this year I need to pay for the balance of our cruise booking in USD (to Princess in the US). Will I be charged 3% on top of the balance? That's a large anount when you're dealing with USD7000. Should I use the FF Visa and not the Amex in that case. Does it incur any extra charges?
Thanks again

AFAIK the ANZ Visa CC has a 3% fee - up from 2.5% awhile back.

If you get the Wizard Mastercard it does not charge an FOREX fees - just the mastercard 1.x% fee

Also no charges for making cash advance withdrawls - just deposit some of your own money onto the card and use it like an ATM card :)

I've found the Wizard card is usually 0.5-0.8%, well under 1%.

Load it with cash, and it's a brilliant o/s debit card too. It's easily one of the best CC's I've used whilst travelling!

Or use a NAB Visa Gold debit with no fees and travel insurance.

Usual +1 for NAB Gold eBanking and its benefits, but has anyone else discovered how poorly 'constructed' the NAB Gold visa debit cards are?

I'm on my fourth replacement card in 15mths now, and the latest one received in mid-September has just died. 10 Days of frequent use in SIN, plus usual 1-3 times a day use since and the magstripe is worn out in two places (left and right head ends of stripe) to where it now needs replacing - again.

I was on the phone to NAB, and put through specific feedback asking for them to take a long hard look at these - along with requesting both chip capability and Visa PayWave be added on the next release.

Strangely, NAB have only just introduced PayWave, and only for their low rate visa card.

If anyone else has the NAB Gold eBanking a/c, put through the request for chip card and paywave next time you give them a call.
