I am thinking about changing from Business to Personal - just for the reduced annual fee if nothing else. To those who have done this:
1. Do I get to keep the Plat Reserve that comes with the Business card? Does it matter if I have already used the $400 travel credit?
2. Do I need to re-enroll in Accord Plus - so I end up with a new membership and will need to accumulate ALL points from zero again? Does it matter if I have already used the Accord free stay (or should I in fact use it before I cancel the old card)?
3. If I cancel after 1 month from the annual fee posting, do I get a pro-rata refund on the fee or no refund at all?
4. I assume I can ring to ask for a transfer of Amex points from the business to the personal? (I was surprised the two don't share a balance - they are both supposed to be Ascent Premium points after all - my Amex Explorer Business and personal Gold share a points balance automatically)
5. Any other "gotchas" to be aware of in this swap?
