Hi,

Not sure if anyone has done this, but I thought the Platinum Charge and Platinum Business Charge give decent bonus sign-up points, roughly sufficient to offset the annual fees, plus you can also get a companion Platinum Reserve which provides either a free flight or $400 travel credit.

Question is if I have both charge cards, am I able to get 2 x Platinum Reserve cards and 2 x travel credits? Maybe even close one of the Reserves first before applying for the second one?

Official answer is apparently only 1 travel credit for every 12 months, but interested to see if anyone has got an experience with this?

You won't get 2x sign-on bonuses if you apply for both the Personal Charge and Business Platinum Charge. You will only get 1 unless you sign up to the cards 18 months apart.

As to whether you will get 2x platinum reserve cards, I'm not sure. But remember there is a limit on the number of personal credit cards (i.e. platinum reserve) you can hold with Amex at any one time.

Actually the current fine-print allows me to get both bonus points.

Yea I believe there is a limit of 2 credit cards, but not sure if I can have 2 credit cards of the exact same type (Platinum Reserve). Luckily I haven't got another credit card at the moment.

Incorrect - site is clear you can get bonus points on both so long as you haven't had a previous personal or small business product
