Hi All,

Hoping you could help me with some Q's I have for the AMEX Platinum Charge Card.

I currently have two credit cards, CBA Platinum CC $6000 limit and AMEX Velocity Platinum $5000 limit which I both use regularly. I have only had the CBA CC since this year which I'm about to cancel. I have scoured through my credit card statements and in the last year I have spent 35,000 on these combined. I occasionally carry a balance (couple of holidays this year) which I could have managed to pay in total.

My annual income will be 85-90,000 pa for this next financial year. I have minimal fixed living expenses and no other debt.

Questions are:
Is there a likely/ unlikely possibility for AMEX to accept an application for the Platinum card taking into consideration the 100,000 pa income requirement?
Would a 35,000 annual spend 'be enough' to be considered for the Platinum card? I've heard that customers have charged 10ks, 100ks to the card each month.
Is there a possibility I would receive the sign up bonus points as a pre-existing AMEX card holder? What was your experience?
Any idea on the 'soft limit' that would be applied to the card if I were accepted?

I would like to spend this next year traveling so the card looks appealing!

Thank you all.
Tim

FWIW, my application was approved without any request for evidence to substantiate my income.

Is your annual income well above the 100,000? Does 30k annual spend seem large enough? Thanks
