Wondering whether anyone's recently signed up and obtained the AMEX Plat. Charge card. Previously, they used to send out (as part of the welcome pack) a really nice leather travel wallet and 2 luggage tags.
Now that it's no longer "by invitation only", wondering what kind of stuff they give out now, considering the annual fee hasn't decreased when they opened up the applications.
Trying to decide whether the perks offered justifies the annual fee. Do they really have better fares (on any class but particularly A or J) than what is available from other TA's? They seem to promote their "single traveller fares", "companion fares" and "special fares".
