Just redeemed the "free" flight through my Amex Platinum Reserve card and they sent the standard Amex Word document confirmation. Of course this isn't in a format that I can send to TripIt to create my itinerary.

I've tried other ways to find the reservation, but can't, as follows:

- Entering both the Amex confirmation and the Airline PNR into Travelport View Trip
- Virgin Blue mobile site using the DJ PNR
- Virgin Blue website using the DJ PNR
- Velocity rewards via my account (the velocity number was included in the booking, as Amex advised you can earn status credits but not points)

Is there any other site I could access to send an electronic confirmation? (Worst case is I enter the trip into TripIt manually, but trying to find an easier way - also for future reference).

My other concern is - will OLCI still be available seeing I'm not even able to access the booking at all via the Virgin site?

And now an update - I think I've solved my issue.

I found the booking using the Amex booking reference number via the Sabre Virtually There site (after googling Amex Travel Reservations to try to work out what system they used!)

My question around OLCI availability still stands though...

Sorry ... next update ... had to save the itinerary from Virtually There as a PDF and then email that (the email function only sends a link to the reservation)

Useful info. I'm likely to want to do the same thing shortly.

Re: Amex Platinum Reserve Card flight redemption - can't view booking on Virgin Blue

Now that I've found the booking, I think I may have discovered why it's not showing on my Velocity account. The Amex booking has my middle initial included, but my velocity account doesn't have this (and nor do my other bookings with Virgin).

I know some people I work with had issues with bookings and points lining up, where their travel profile name did not exactly match velocity (eg. middle initials included, or names not exact - eg. Dave/David).

Might get Amex to remove the initial and see if that works.
