Hi guys,

I know there has been a downgrade with the travel insurance via amex although this has not directly affected me , so was still planning on using the cards travel insurance as my family would be travelling in the next couple of weeks. Thought it best to call and find out from ACE what the go was.... Following my phone call i have been informed that travel insurance is valid for points & taxes purchases with AMEX as long as we can show that all the points used for redemption has been transferred from AMEX membership rewards at some stage and not accrued from elsewhere... i.e transfers from other cards(which i did with my citibank visa for the return leg)...so just a note for anyone who is thinking of using the points option with ACE insurance.

SO now will be looking for travel insurance for a 2 adults +1 infant; overseas trip to asia in july and to USA in october.. anyone has any suggestions for travel insurance.

Thanks
