As the name suggests, the discovery card is ideal for those starting out in the points game; you only need to spend $300 on the card in the first three months to receive 7500 Qantas points and you get another 2500 the first time you purchase Qantas flights using the card.

The Amex website is currently offering only 5000 for sign up and 2500 for Qantas spend, so you are gaining an extra 2500 point by using my referral (I get 5000 points for a referral, so win-win).

Every day earn is 2 points per dollar with Qantas, 1 point per dollar on everything else (including ATO and government charges)

Best of all, no annual fee for life, so a great way to build up your credit history with Amex and take advantage of statement credits and promotions such as Shop Small.

I'm an Aussie based in the UK at present but with a partner living in Australia, so every referral gets me closer to home!
