The offer for the Discovery card referrals has recently been increased from 10,000 to 15,000, which is a high as this card gets. This offer finishes 31 October 2015.
The Discovery card is ideal for those starting out in the points game; you only need to spend $300 on the card in the first 3 months to receive 12,500 Qantas points and you get another 2500 the first time you purchase Qantas flights using the card.
The Amex website is currently offering only 5000 for sign up and 2500 for Qantas spend, so you are gaining an extra 7,500 points by using my referral (I get 10,000 points for a referral, so win-win).
Earning rate is 2 points per dollar on Qantas spend, 1 point per dollar on everything else (including ATO, utilities and government charges)
Best of all, there is no annual fee for life, so a great way to build up your credit history with Amex and take advantage of statement credits and promotions such as Shop Small.
