Amex Velocity Gold 'Enhancements'

Received a letter from Amex yesterday with the great news that the Velocity Gold card is being enhanced to 1.5 pts/$ however the 2pts/$ on fuel and supermarkets is disappearing after October 3rd... :(

Given that we only use this card for fuel and groceries, it looks like this card is going to have the same fate as the ANZ Black....

When will the bad news end????
