Hey guys

Received this offer in the mailbox today:

American Express Velocity Platinum Card
-- $349 annual fee
-- 50,000 bonus Velocity Points and 150 Status Credits (requires $500 spend for the former and any flight with VA for the latter)
-- 0.99% p.a. on balance transfers for 6 months
-- Enjoy a complimentary Virgin Australia return domestic flight every anniversary year

One of the conditions: Card Members who currently hold or who have previously held any other Card product offered by American Express Australia Limited in the preceding 12-month period are ineligible for this offer.

So, does this exclude those who have AMEX cards from Banks (e.g. my CBA AMEX + Mastercard)?

Edit:
Didn't notice this too: This offer is only available to the named recipient of a communication from Velocity Frequent Flyer inviting them to apply for this offer and this offer expires on 31/10/2014.

No

Only American Express issued cards (Platinum, gold charge card), plat edge etc..

Bank issued AMEX are OK

Well that's cool, thanks leyy.

Been thinking of switching off my CBA cards and this seems like a good way to start...

If anyone goes through with this, wouldn't mind some confirmation on whether the 'must be named recipient of the email' requirement is actually checked!
