Seems like its back in a different shape and form! I received a personalised email offering to earn up to 200,000 Velocity points per year for successful referrals(1).

For each successful referral, you’ll receive 20,000 bonus Velocity Points(2). Your friend will receive 80,000 bonus Velocity Points(2) when they apply for an American Express Velocity Platinum Credit Card by 2 February 2016, are approved as a new Card Member and spend $500 in the first three months of new Card Membership.

My wife just got rid of hers......maybe if I get the link offer, I might talk her into it again, plus over Christmas, my nephew was asking about it and his father was as well......that might be 60k to me plus another 80k to +1. That would just about top up our points balance enough for return suites to LHR.....if I get the link offer!

Well I just got the email, so I might give it a try! No harm in trying I guess except the card fee.

Would have been better to post this in the referrals forum not to get the mods offside, but also, isn't this essentially the same as pre Xmas, just extended?

Happy for it to be moved, but as I understand it this offer is new and different to the previous 110k points offer with different spend requirements, hence new thread in credit card offers. This is the same as any other Amex Velocity card 80K offer as the applicant gets 80K and you get 20K ....

Happy for it to be moved, but as I understand it this offer is new and different to the previous 110k points offer with different spend requirements, hence new thread in credit card offers. As the consensus seems to be that this is the same offer as before (with a slightly lower minimum spend), and you didn't post the referral in the right spot (namely the referrals forum), I have removed the referral and locked this thread. If you would like to post your referral again then please find the appropriate thread in the correct section. You know the rules, referrals can only go one place.
