So its our anniversary coming up and although we've lived in the outer suburbs of Sydney for 18 months we haven't actually had a night out in the city. I'm 30 and my wife is 38 so we aren't really going for a heavy night, but some entertainment would be good. We have the MIL looking after the kids, so an opportunity to enjoy.

I was contemplating a night in the Shangri La (we've been to quite a few Shangri La's the world over in Horizon Club rooms), a pampering session for my wife and then some nighttime entertainment that preferably doesn't involve queuing too much but will give us a glimpse of Sydney nightlife.

Of course, in true FF style anything that could be done with a package deal would be good (so if anyone knows any hotel/pampering package deals), any some ideas for a good night out would be greatly appreciated.

I know the forum is a fountain of knowledge, so any advice is appreciated.

Only thing we don't need to worry about is food as the missus is picky and doesn't eat a lot, so we just take that as we go.

May be Sydney comes to mind when thinking about a romantic destination. There are some notorious spots around Sydney where sunsets can be enjoyed best. Like, Sydney Harbour Bridge, on the deck of a Manly ferry, you can see the sun setting the skyline and the Harbour Bridge. It has a marvellous view. BridgeClimb also offers Wedding climb on offer, so you can tie the knot or renew your vows on top of the most iconic of landmarks in Sydney. Another tip for more active couples is the Great Coastal Walk that connects Palm Beach in the north with the Royal National Park.
