Annoying DVT Video

Just wondering who else is getting annoyed by that DVT prevention video that QF plays at the start of flights. For me I'm not so annoyed by the fact that they play the video as I'm sure that they are genuinely concerned :roll: for passenger health and safety.

What I really want to know is there any reason why this video can't be played immediatly after the normal safety, emergency video/instructions? You almost always have several minutes between the end of the safety instructions and take-off. So why can't they play it then and let us have those extra 5 minutes to watch movies etc.

I find it a little annoying. I agree with you that it should be played as part of the safety video.

Do what I do when its being shown, look out the window and watch the grass grow, as we are taxing for T/O. Trust me, its more interesting!

All jokes aside, they show it for OH&S issues, so when someone drags the into court and blames them for their DVT, they can tell the judge they took all reasonable precautions by showing the gem.

Don't you hate it when someone has started the crossword for you? I use the crossword to judge how many flights I have taken in that month. If I complete the crossword during the flight, its probably my first flight for the month. If it is completed by the time we reach cruise altitude, its probably the second flight for the month. If its complete by takeoff, then its number 3 or better for the month. If its complete by pushback, I know its been too many flights for the month (of they have not yet replaced the magazine!).

Sometimes I think I am just writing in the answers without even reading the clues.

I usually don't watch it, but I do find it frustrating when it stops the loop or VOD on and International flight... There is usually a delay of around 10-20mins before they switch it on, then to have it stopped so we can all watch the DVT clip!

I do find this a little annoying...
