This is my first trip report, but at least I'm guided by what @JohnM has recently posted and will try not to duplicate too much (although you can see the contrast in the weather I experienced):

Walking around town - I almost missed the aircraft passing over Sun PicturesIMG_20201221_152939[1].jpg

Planespotting at Roebuck Bay Lookout but it's not as up close as over Sun Pictures

So over the next 2 days I positioned myself at Sun Pictures to try to coincide with the arrival of QF flights but alas they were all landing from the other direction

Very good photos. Sun Theatre a highlight.

No photos of your meals. Camel?

AT which hotel did you stay? Impressive?

I've been there once and stayed overnight but Asia (and further afield) tends to be better value so no plans to return. However if you enjoyed it, great, and well done for walking to and from the airport. Hope it wasn't too much of a scorching sun.

I'm now nursing a sunburn not from the walk to/from the airport but cycling around Broome - I ended up not staying for the sunset camel ride at Cable Beach and headed back to the hotel swimming pool instead. I stayed at the Mangrove Hotel which they claim to be the best location to view the Staircase to the Moon during the right season. It's also around the corner from Matso's where I went for dinner and drinks with my neighbours from the hotel on both nights. I don't have a habit of taking food/hotel photos but ordered the fish of the day (Barramundi) and a jug of coughtail.

I also tried Dragonfly Cafe for breakfast (which I really liked and recommended to my next door neighbours), Zanders on Cable Beach for coughtails after a long hot bicycle ride (unfortunately Zookeepers Store is currently closed) and Green Mango for lunch (my next door neighbours also thought it was average).

You travel all the way to the other side of the country to find places to take pictures of sunrises  over water! 🤣 (Were you feeling home sick?! haha)

Well I was waking up around 4 am (due to the 2 hour time difference) and it was already getting light before 5 am... But the humidity and mozzie bites made me feel right at home!

We've booked snubfin tour with Broome Whale Watching for the morning and going back out on the water on Willie the pearl lugger for the sunset. Car hired for our second full day from Zippy Rentals. Luckily for us moon and tide align for Staircase to the Moon and a low enough tide to see the footprints (but not the Catalinas)
