I suspect this goes under the category 'wouldn't normally be a story, except for what's happened lately', but FWIW:
American Airlines Airbus A319 Avoids Close Call At Reagan National Airport
On the morning of February 25th, an American Airlines Airbus A319 operating flight 2246 from Boston Logan International Airport was on final approach to Regan National Airport at around 08:30 local time when an air traffic controller told the pilots of the flight to (literally) go around at the last minute, just one mile from landing on runway 19 from the North of the Potomac River. Why? There was another American Airlines flight, an A320 operating flight 1519 to Charlotte Douglas International Airport , on takeoff roll.
About a mile of separation, according to the story.
