I'm a QLDer living in WA and flying home to QLD once a year. The family live out in the sticks behind the black stump!
Always good to sit back on the farm, chat to the cows and relax for a week.

This site is great! I was introduced through a friend who has picked up lots of good tips for me to use as well.
Amex didn't accept me this time round - will try again in 6 months :o

Looking forward to more travel in 2012.

Hello Adelaide,
Welcome to AFF...yes it's ok to come from Queensland but with the name Adelaide and living here in WA I am unsure if you are a Dockers supporter!
In WA it is commonplace to support the underdog team in football.
I hope you pick up some travel and credit card tips that work for you.

Hi Cove,
This is rather exciting being on this forum.

My pen name is Adelaide is because I was planning to take my parents there and it kinda stuck.

I support both the Dockers and the Eagles - because I have friends that support the opposing sides so I'm spreading the love around.
I have been known to hang out at Leederville with WAFL and have some great fun.

As for tips - I have been using them as I learn them.

Great to meet you.

Save yourself a heap of headaches and heart aches and drop the dockers!!! :D

And a username of Adelaide from Queensland living in WA just sounds confusing...

Bit like in Forrest Gump in his sqaud in Vietnam "There was Dallas, from Phoenix; Cleveland - he was from Detroit; and Tex... well, I don't remember where Tex come from"

Hi Adelaide,

Welcome to AFF.

I have to partially agree with cove in that you should drop the dorkers but also think you should dump the wegirls as well. You could then follow a real football team :!:

Yes welcome Adelaide, here you will find some really amazing info from many experts, it's a never ending learning curve!.

Ah Straitman...if only it was that simple but its like being in the wilds of Africa....All the teams are pretty fantastic with how they run like Leopards when they have ball and leap gracefully in the air high like Gazelles when they want it. Then they do the small group hug in the middle of the ground like Hyenas eating a carcus while everyone else wanders round the ground like Zebras....What is your suggestion for a real football team to follow?

Most other teams except COLLINGWOOD :!:

Yes, if you want to follow a team that is almost the definition of success I suppose you could become a member of Richmond??? :D

At least the 'we girls' seemed to look interested in playing this past season, so if they keep it up with a season of experience under their belt for the new guys, i am looking forward to the 2012 season, which i haven't been able to say for a few years...

Welcome aboard Adelaide.

The Perth crowd will be arranging another drinks meet some time in February, so keep an eye out on the meetings and social events threads - we'd love you to join us. The thread and report from our 1st frequent drinks meet is here.

And I won't give you stick for the username, considering I respect the quality of the food that comes from there. But for heavens sake, could they please do something about it becoming a ghost town on Sunday nights. There's only so much cough on the TV or a laptop you can watch, especially after the Adelaide Hilton exec lounge closes and everyone disappears :p

I stay at the West Lakes Resort so there is a good opportunity to swim, walk, eat and if you must....gamble in between football matches.
