Hi all, my name's Rick and I've just joined the forum after a recommend from a friend. I love anything to do with planes and travel and have flown quite a lot over the years and hope to do a lot more in the future. I've recently been flying Air Asia and have found them to be a good value LCC. Thanks :)

Slickster59 Welcome to the forum

Not many here fly Air Asia: no frequent flyer miles :)
Hang around and we will have in business class in no time
(well maybe)

Air Asia has a frequent flyer program called BIG Loyalty. Earn points by MYR spent and can be towards free flights. Not sure earning/burning rate though..

BIG loyalty costs 5MYR annually. Points do expire after 2 years. You can generally redeem flights cheaply from kuala lumpur to neighbouring countries for a few thousand big points, or use them on cheap 3* hotels. Its a low cost reward program from an LCC. A flight return from SYD to KL should get you more than 5000, enough for 2 nights stay at their 3* hotel.

I heard rumours they are planning to release a credit card with BIG points. Will be aimed at the lower end.

I haven't heard of this scheme before. Do you know if it's available to Australian Residents?
