I found two old BP's in some books I was re-reading and they don't have a year in the date one is AN170 MEL-BNE 17 JAN and the other is AN133 TSV-BNE 24JAN, any clues as to the year? The book I was reading is dated 2000 so one would punt on this being the date I suppose?

Well it was not later than October 2001. So that seems to narrow it down a little .... Unless you were in the habit of using old BPs as bookmarks.

If it was in 2000 there would be an Olympic logo on it as Ansett was a partner.

Concur.

As for AN tickets, I have a whole ton of them kicking around which I've managed to collect over the years. Blank ticket stock for Y & J, and used tickets over the space of a few years for one or two specific people who flew often. Good little unique items for the Aussie airline ephemera collection I have.

If you had a roll or two of blank AN boarding pass stock, some image editing software, and a little bit of spare time - you could have some fun. Grab an image of your online boarding pass for DJ/QF, then you should be able to rearrange everything onto the blank AN boarding pass - and as long as you printed the barcode correctly it should work at the gate. A good way to screw with the mind of the FAs.

It would all be fun and games until you found a gate dragon without a sense of humour who reports you as a forger :o.
