Just wondering if anyone say the Antonov 124-100 in Brisbane today? Saw it on the news and it’s a big, big bird.

I think there’s a few inaccuracies in the story, especially when it says it has 6 engines but all the photos clearly show it has 4. Perhaps getting it confused with the 225.

Interesting to see it has two front landing gear.

Sorry folks, its just as Lloyd said, no An-225 for you. Its an An-124 coming at the moment as VDA2454.

Yes I saw it there today.

Quite big indeed!

When it's standing by itself, it's hard to put it's size into perspective. I didn't think it looked any bigger than an A380.

Nearly flew over my house this afternoon as I worked from the pool:p

Much louder than anything else I have seen/heard flying overhead. And yes, it looked very big.

Yeap, 124 only has 4 engines... Plus it is smaller (height \ takeoff weight \ width and wingspan) than an A380...

Unlike it's bigger brother the 225, which is larger than an A380 in most aspects (takeoff weight \ width \ wingspan) except for height. Plus the 225 has 6 engines...

There must be some issue with the 225 that prevents it coming to Australia. It has been down to come here before, but never seems to make it, with the 124 coming instead.

A shame, though the 225 would surely draw a lot of people to see it, maybe an air show would be a better venue for it.
