Another great deal for us Aussies.

1000 American Express Membership Rewards = 600 Priority Club Points
1000 AA miles = 800 Priority Club Points (+30 USD/transaction)

14,500 Priority Club Points = USD$100 i.e 1.450 PC/c or USD$0.689/PC
17,000 Priority Club Points = USD$125 i.e. 1.360 PC/c or USD$0.735/PC
19,500 Priority Club Points = USD$150 i.e. 1.300 PC/c or USD$0.769/PC
24,500 Priority Club Points = USD$200 i.e. 1.225 PC/c or USD$0.816/PC
29,500 Priority Club Points = USD$250 i.e. 1.180 PC/c or USD$0.847/PC

So,

50000 Amex MR = 30,000 PC = USD$250 + 500 PC ~ 310 AUD + 500 PC. Probably better redeeming directly for gift cards from Amex, especially if staying at Stamford.

Not a bad deal if you want to use your points for hotel stays, in theory I see no reason why you could not use it for a stay that qualifies for more points and you get the normal benefits that you dont get on a reward stay, such as free minibar, upgrade and late checkout as a RA, you could also use it for a BOGO stay as well!

For instance its not unusual to get $140-$160 rooms on the Gold Coast at present, both Hoiliday Inn and Crowne Plaza have a Priority Privilege BOGO without using the cert offer on, at 29500 points for a USD$250 card you are getting 4 nights accomodation - and you would get back at least 5000 of those points if you have status as part of the qualifying stay component!
