Hello everyone,

Had a few questions:

My FF profile doesnt show my middle name on my passport, now all my international trips to date have no issues and was wondering will I have an issue going to the US?

Also looking at taking the status run to SJU (LAS - DFW - MIA - SJU) and staying there for a few days to relax as it looks like quite a nice destination, what are the visa requirements for re-entry into the US?

I'm an Aussie passport holder.

Cheers!

You'll probably enter on the VWP. This allows visits of up to 90 days. I'm not sure if SJU would be enough to reset the time limit back to the 90 days. (I know that Mexico and Canada do not reset the 90 days, can't say about Puerto Rico).
Provided that you do everything within the 90 days you will have no problems re-entering the US. I believe the VWP costs US$10 to obtain, but I'm sure a look at the CBP website will tell you for sure.

When you book a trip to the US, you will be prompted to enter in advance passenger information into your booking. Whilst you didn't specify which airline, from memory QF takes some of that information out of your QF profile, but you still need to confirm it. If they don't have your full name there, you will be given an opportunity to enter it in.

Cheers for that! My trip is all up less than 90 days. I've entered some aips? Information but don't have option to put my middle name? Might have a look again and check out what you mentioned.

Hi - Just as a FYI - SJU is considered part of the US Continental. When I was waiting for my green card to come through I could travel there without my 'parole' (horrible name but basically a pass out from the USA).

Hi,

You do not need the middle name included in the name field on the reservation. You DO require to enter the middle name exactly as per passport in the advanced passenger information section. you should have been prompted for this in the your bookings section of qantas.com once you logged in.

As others have stated, caribbean does not reset the 90 days.

As well as completing the advanced passenger information for the airline you will need to complete the ESTA application online. This is part of the VWP mentioned earlier. It costs $14 and is good for 2? years (can't remember if it's 2 or 3.) Note down the application number or print the approval. You aren't required to present it at Immigration but some people take it along for peace of mind.

It's two years from approval or passport expiry - whichever is sooner.

Cost is USD14 ($10 for ESTA, $4 Application fee)

I thinks it generally a good idea to have hard a copy with you, I have been asked for it twice out of 20+ times.

Apply here: U.S. Customs and Border Protection - Travel

I followed this advice and it saved me an awful lot of grief in LAX this morning. Turns out I had entered my passport number incorrectly in the application ( out by one digit), so although the ESTA had been approved it hadn't been approved for my passport.  Officer thought I had travelled on an expired ESTA. I was able to show the print out where he quickly picked up on the passport number and after being escorted over for further questioning I was out in 10 minutes with the stamp in my passport.
