Any reason to choose a "reward" over "any seat" redemption?

Looking to do my first redemption with VA.

The cost in points is the same and the cash is $2 cheaper for the "any seat". Are there benefits one way or another?

Not really - neither will earn Velocity points or Status credits.

So whats the difference between choosing any seat or reward, which one gets the better seat?

(yay my first post on here) lol

Welcome to AFF Lee-Anne!

All things being equal they should both get the same seat but that may not be the case if the "any seat" is of the very expensive variety.

Could I ask what you mean by this? I am looking at doing my first redemption BNE-BOS. There are no reward seats available, and the Any Seat options are high points, does that mean we'd get some sort of preference or better treatment? We will be requesting a bassinet in the bulkhead as we'll have an infant by then. Cheers
