It just gets annoying with DSC often being in March and then only allowing 4 months to retain my status. And at that point, tickets are often more expensive if I am only booking a few months in advance. I know I can book in the months post July for the following year, but somehow in my mind it just seems more advantageous to have a January anniversary.I guess you could create a new one in December to rollover Dec 31 (or Jan for end Jan if you like) and then close any existing one.
but of course you couldn't transfer any points balance, status etc unless you did family transfer to a family member(s) then back (depending on balance this could get complicated) to a new account.
QFF won't change your existing account though as far as I know.
why would you want to change it?

No it doesnt.Probably won't help OP, but does parental leave status hold results in a change of annivesary date?

it still doesn't reset the anniversary date of the giftee's membership. It just aligns with the gifters so that the giftee gets that full amount of status as the gift. Atfer the gift expires, they go back to their original anniversaryYour status month can change if you're gifted partner status. When I earned WP+PG a few years back, I ended up gifting PG to my child. Their status month was March or April, and it was changed to be my status month (Sept or Oct).
This is the only way I know of to change the month of an existing membership. So - find someone to gift you partner gold or platinum who has a Dec/Jan rollover!

My only uncertainty is the treatment of SC earn while having a gifted status with a later expiry than their usual one (eg: membership year ends June 30, gifted til Aug 31). I believe they are assessed against the original anniversary in terms of any requalification but I don't have any concrete proof of that.
At any rate it's definitely not a permanent change.
And that's why. When the extension runs out they should revert to their own date - unless you gift again of courseMy child's date has not changed since the original gifting. Though until now, they have retained SG or been comped SG (Covid comps).

Essentially, you keep planning your travels in the next 12 month horizon (or by your membership years). But if you'd be ready to book around March, perhaps wait to see if there happens to be to be a DCS offer. And the same around Sep/Oct.Thanks all for the responses. It seems I just need to be more organised and plan ahead for coming years
